Welcome to 3rd Grade!  My name is Mrs. Henriquez.  I am looking forward to being your child's third grade teacher. I am very excited about all that Our Lady of Refuge has to offer and can't wait to watch your child learn and grow each day!

    This year, we will be focusing on getting students prepared for their first state tests at the end of the year. They will also be getting prepared for their first communion. Academically, We will make sure we touch every subject necessary to achieve the end of year goal. In Math, we will be focusing on: multiplication/division, fractions, areas/perimeters, other measurements, and time; Learning their times tables is fundamental. In ELA, we will focus on: suffixes and prefixes, decoding multiple syllable words, reading fluency and comprehension, and the breakdown of stories. I suggest your child reads 20 minutes a day to help with phonemic awareness and comprehension.
