Parents looking for a new school for 2023-24 are invited to visit Our Lady of Refuge School Thursday 16 March. We especially hope to accommodate families coming from closing Catholic schools. Those parents are reminded there will be an extra $500 tuition grant if you transfer to our school. Please call (718-367-3081) with any questions.
Parents of students in grades K-5 are invited to a VERY important meeting on Wednesday 1 March @ 6:30p. Our topic will be : Planning the future of Our Lady of Refuge School together. Plans for next year will be revealed and we actively seek input from parents as part of this process. The recent closing of many Catholic schools pointedly shows the need to look ahead. We hope to see everyone next Wednesday.

Congratulations to those students in grades 3-8 who earned honors for the 2nd quarter. Ribbons were distributed at the Honors Assembly on 31 January. The complete list of students is posted in the Wednesday folder under School Updates.
Parents will receive an email on Friday 17 February inviting you to register for the 2023-24 school year. You will also be able to fill out your FINANCIAL AID form for next year. Parents must apply for financial aid every year. Please call the school office with any questions.
Our Band and singers will bring Christmas cheer to the Academy of Mt. St. Ursula this Friday 16 Dec and the Eastchester Nursing Home on Wednesday 21 December. Congratulations and thanks to Mr. Levitt and all our students for their hard work and willingness to share during this blessed season.
The annual Holiday Book Fair has returned. Students will browse on Tuesday 13 Dec then shop on Wednesday and Thursday 14, 15 Dec. Parents are invited. Teachers will let you know what time your child will be at the fair. We STRONGLY encourage parents to sign up for E WALLET if you cannot attend. This will avoid the need to send your child with cash. A new offer to parents! Order forms were sent home for Holiday pictures. Parents choosing these photos (it is optional) can pick the background and send your child to school that day (2 Dec) in appropriate holiday dress.
We are happy to welcome Mr. Greg Drozdek our new PE teacher. Mr. Drozdek arrives with extensive teaching experience and a martial arts background. He will start here on Tuesday 29 November. NOTE: Thursday's PE classes are moved to Fridays.
The parent portal will be closed while teachers finalize their marks for the first report card (grades 1-8.) Report cards will be given out and available on line on Thursday 10 November. NOTE: Families behind on tuition will not receive their cards.
